The GLBT Community —
An Exceptional Consumer Base for Advertisers

• According to the most recent Freedom Press reader survey* the demographic we we can get you in front of has an average household income of over $87,000.
• Marketers have learned that gay and lesbian consumers favor companies advertising in gay media. In our most recent reader survey we found that our customers very closely parallel the national profile of the GLBT market.
• Over 90% percent of readers surveyed have purchased a product or service that was advertised in a Freedom Press publication or web site.
• National research suggests that approximately six percent of the U.S. population openly identifies as gay or lesbian. In an metropolitan / city environment, that number can be as high as twelve percent.
• Based on the above statistic, that is a consumer base — or marketplace — of between 210,000 and 380,000 individuals in Tennessee alone.
• GLBT consumers nationally are attributed with spending over $450 billion dollars a year.
• National studies have indicated that beer and liquor companies, vacation resorts, auto makers, drug companies and the real estate and restaurant industries are among the advertisers aggressively pursuing the gay and lesbian dollar through gay publications. Others include the airline and banking/financial industries.

* The most recent Freedom Press Reader survey was compiled in July of 2006.
